The Wilderness Survival Camping (WSC) program has four-phases, taught on weekends throughout the school year, entirely in the outdoors. Youth, parents and adults hike, learn about edible plants, and set up campsites. They cooperate and help one another. The skills learned in the WSC program also prepare youth for disasters, emergencies, and a number of other situations, where they may find themselves without the usual necessities and conveniences of life.
Underneath the cover of intellectual pursuit is the true self that acts as a guide throughout life. “It nudges us when needed, and prods us to become our best” and to “strive to become a better person.” It allows us latitude to become all that we dream of being. It brings life to what could be a lifeless soul, and gives purpose and design to our every move.
