About Us
Tennessee Aquatic Project and Development Group, LLC (TAP) aims to broaden the horizons of middle Tennessee youth from under-resourced communities. TAP offers life skills and unique opportunities through aquatic activities, outdoor exploration, and leadership experiences. TAP motivates young people to face their fears, find a sense of direction, and build confidence in their abilities.
TAP was founded in 1995.
Learning –
Our motto is “First we learn, then we teach.” TAP believes youth can learn new skills and then teach and present them to others. Participants learn about people and the world through experiences and travel.
Service –
Individual and collective contributions can make positive and sustainable community changes.
Youth development TAP believes in what children can become. Taking youth outside their comfort areas will expand their leadership skills and possibilities.
Trailblazing –
From inception, TAP by innovative design, resourcefully leverages opportunities to accomplish its mission.
Sustainability –
The earth and its most vulnerable inhabitants deserve to be protected and thrive.
Courage –
Bravery leads to a transformation: higher levels of self-confidence and self-esteem, character, determination, and trust in self and others.
Mentorship – Connecting youth to youth, adults, their families, and communities brings new perspectives and opportunities for collaboration, creativity, cooperation, and understanding.
Since 1995, TAP has provided new and innovative training programs to minority children and youth ages 8 to 18 years in the Metro Nashville Davidson County area (Tennessee).
