“I learned wilderness survival skills, skiing, and improved my swimming skills with TAP. My biggest accomplishment is becoming a certified SCUBA diver.” J.W.
“I am proud that we made fish attractors and sunk them in a lake. I also learned to identify different bird calls.” A.P.
TAP understands that people have something to offer to their community. We welcome those who bring help and understanding to teach, and assist TAP’s youth in reaching their goals to better their community.
To educate is the most important job in our daily life. That is why TAP`s motto is “First We Learn, Then We Teach”. We never stop learning, growing, and changing because knowledge is the key to success. We learn new things every day, including life lessons, through our trials and tribulations. We take these life lessons and pass them on to our children to prepare and teach them that education is the most valuable asset. Being knowledgeable can allow a person to explore more options and because of the knowledge and capabilities a person might have the world has no limits.

Once so polluted there were signs posted warning people to stay out of the water, Whites Creek has made a remarkable comeback thanks to the hard work of many caring people.
Members of the Tennessee Aquatic Project spend time cleaning up and helping to preserve the Whites Creek Watershed each year. At TAP we spend a lot of our time doing community service and educating youth about the environment and how it is our responsibility to maintain it on land and in water.
Since 1995, TAP has provided new and innovative training programs to minority children and youth ages 8 to 18 years in the Metro Nashville Davidson County area (Tennessee).
